# Your Personal Study Companion: Using the "My Notes" Feature
The Hifz Focus app is designed for guided learning with your teacher, but it's also a powerful tool for your personal study and reflection. One of the key features for this is My Notes Mode.
This mode allows you to add your own private notes, thoughts, or reminders to any word or verse in the Mushaf. Your teachers cannot see these notes; they are for your eyes only.
How to Use "My Notes" Mode
1. Enable the Mode*: On your Student Dashboard, at the top of the Mushaf viewer, you will find a toggle switch labeled *"My Notes Mode". Simply click this switch to turn it on. The Mushaf is now ready for your annotations.
2. Add a Note:
Click on any word** or *verse number in the Mushaf.
* A dialog box will appear, prompting you to "Add a personal note."
* Type in your thoughts. This could be a reminder about a specific Tajweed rule, a question you want to ask your teacher later, a reflection on the meaning of the verse, or a mnemonic to help you remember a difficult passage.
* Click "Save Note."
3. Review Your Notes:
* Any word or verse you've annotated will be highlighted with a distinct blue background, making them easy to spot.
* All of your saved notes are collected in a "My Notes" card at the bottom of your dashboard for easy review.
* The best part? Clicking on any note in this list will instantly scroll the Mushaf viewer to that exact verse and make it blink, allowing you to quickly jump to the context of your annotation.
Why is This Useful?
- Personalized Reminders: Mark words where you often make the same mistake.
- Tafsir & Reflection: Add short notes about the meaning or context of a verse after listening to a lecture.
- Questions for Your Teacher: Jot down questions as you practice, so you don't forget to ask them in your next session.
The "My Notes" feature transforms the Mushaf from a simple text into your personal, interactive study journal, helping you build a deeper, more reflective connection with the Quran.
