Your journey with a lesson begins as a Sabak (new lesson). Once you and your teacher are confident you have learned it, the teacher marks it as "Memorized."

This is a key moment. The lesson doesn't just disappear; it graduates and is automatically added to your Dour queue. This is the first step in transferring knowledge from your short-term to your long-term memory.

Cyclic Repetition: A Continuous Cycle of Review

The Dour queue is built on the principle of Cyclic Repetition. It ensures that every memorized lesson is reviewed on a continuous, rotating basis. Here’s how it works:

1. Join the Queue: Your newly memorized lesson is added to the end of your Dour queue with a due date set for the future.

2. Review in Order: You and your teacher work through the queue in its scheduled order, from the oldest items to the newest.

3. Recycle and Reschedule*: When you review a Dour item with your teacher and recite it correctly, the system "recycles" it. It is removed from its current position and placed at the very *end of the queue with a new due date.

This simple but powerful process guarantees that you are constantly revisiting your older lessons, preventing them from being forgotten. It creates a complete, unbroken cycle of revision.

Intelligent Merging for Efficient Revision

As you memorize more of the Quran, your Dour queue gets smarter. Hifz Focus automatically looks for adjacent lessons and merges them into larger, more efficient revision blocks.

For example:

- You memorize `Al-Baqarah (1-7)`.

- Later, you memorize `Al-Baqarah (8-16)`.

The system will merge these into a single Dour item: Al-Baqarah (1-16). This makes your long-term revision more like how you would naturally recite, consolidating your knowledge into a seamless whole.
